ABOUT GLOBISENS

ALL-IN-ONE SCIENCE TO FULL STEAM CROSS-OVER SOLUTION!

Globisens is an education technology company that delivers an exciting and enriching STEAM learning experience for tomorrow’s innovators.

After launching the first hand-held mobile science laboratory for K-12 in 2012, Globisens has continued to set the benchmark for innovation. Today the company’s portfolio offers a unique blend of STEAM crossover solutions. Globisens incorporates all-in-one mobile science labs with data analysis, collaborative and coding applications, as well as pixel art creative tools.

THE FIRST K-12 MOBILE SCIENCE LAB

The Globisens story began with the award-winning Labdisc, integrating up to 15 wireless sensors in a single device. Turning any classroom into a multi-disciplinary hand-on science Lab, the Labdisc revolutionized science in terms of cost, convenience and portability.

Today, Globisens has more than 100,000 Labdisc devices, in 20 different languages, installed in over 30 countries, all while winning 7 prestigious international Ed Tech awards.

Seamlessly integrating
hands-on science into learning

Wireless, built-in probes and automatic sensor testing and calibration releases teachers from wasted hours in setup and calibration and saves schools substantial investments in traditional laboratory formats. The Labdisc design fully integrates with the latest technology tools penetrating schools from online learning, to Chromebooks, interactive whiteboards and tablets.

Coding, the new literacy

Globisens introduces coding with the Xploris solution. Now students can take the next step and control machines’ output according to changes in their sensors’ readings. Integrating scientific investigation with code generation, students can understand and impact the day-to-day technology that drives their world.

Paralleling real sci-tech processes

Globisens solutions inspire and prepare tomorrow’s scientists and technologists. Performing hands-on experiments, students can grasp abstract science concepts, master the language of technology and learn to collaborate.

Globisens offers a range of accessible and fun exploration tools, together with data analysis and collaborative software. Sharing their results with GlobiCollab collaborative software enables students to finely tune their working processes, expand their knowledge and broaden their scientific inquiry.

An orchestra of STEAM learning

Just one example of this holistic approach to STEAM learning is seen when using the Labdisc to measure the impact of temperature and light in a greenhouse. Students can collaborate with GlobiCollab to analyze their shared results. Based on their data conclusions they can then apply the Exploris to develop code that can adjust the temperature and light output in the greenhouse.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

Slide

“I was really surprised at what a rich data-set we got from the Labdisc considering the extreme conditions in near space, similar to those found on Mars with around 0.6% of the Earth’s atmospheric pressure and temperatures of -60 °C”

Dr. Steve Croft

UC Berkeley Space Sciences Lab

Slide

“We selected the Labdisc because we believe it brings added value to our inquiry-based learning sessions.”

Professor Simos Retalis

University of Piraeus

Slide

“The quality and durable nature of the Labdisc, together with the number of built-in sensors make the product very convenient to use, even for primary school where small children can easily perform hands-on experiments without risk of breaking.”

Magela Fuzatti

Head of Digital Laboratories

Slide

“The Labdisc IS inquiry - with it students can measure, investigate, solve problems and construct their own experiments to improve their hypotheses.”

Sergey Lowjagin

Physics Teacher, Moscow

Slide

“Our experimentation with the Labdisc generated positive emotions in students because they discovered science through their own hands and minds.”

Carla Lueiza

Science Educator Trainer

Slide

“This gets them engaged in science and expands their horizons. They would not ordinarily think of themselves as scientists, but now they’ve designed a question and can answer it themselves.”

Michael Occhino

Get Real! Environmental Action Camp Director

“Both in Israel and Prague, the teachers and students have been blown away by how the Globisens probes all fit into one small efficient unit. The ease and ability to drop data onto the iPad – allows for on-the-spot data collection and real-time display, as well as pictures, movies and interviews to supplement data presentation.”

Stuart Fleischer

GAIA (Global Awareness Investigation and Action) Director

“I am in wonder of the Labdisc and GlobiLab course... it will help make physics more fun as a science.”
